Founders Shines at 2026 Youth Nationals

Racing this past June at the USRowing Youth National Championships in Sarasota, FL brought the 2025-2026 season to a close with remarkable achievements such as two medals and a historic finish for Founders' first sweeping entry. In May, Founders qualified seven boats at the USRowing Central Youth Championships, and selected 5 entries to compete at the National Championships: Women's 2nd Varsity Quad "B", 2nd Varsity Quad "A", Varsity Quad, Varsity Straight Four, and U17 Double.
We're highlighting each crew and their standout results, alongside recognizing the graduating class.
FRC’s Quad Sculls Make a Strong Statement
The 2nd Varsity "B" Quad finished fourth in the B final, placing12th nationally. This crew demonstrated grit and tenacity throughout all their races and will be returning for the 2026-2027 season ready to make a statement.
The 2nd Varsity "A" Quad, composed entirely of graduating seniors, secured a second-place finish in the grand final. This marks the second year in a row of podium finishes for FRC in the 2V category, making it a memorable final race for the seniors.
The Varsity Quad, "PSQ", delivered an impressive performance, finishing second in the grand final among a very competitive field. The crew bested Founders' prior result of third place at the 2025 Youth National Championships.
Historic First for FRC in Sweeping Events
A milestone was reached with FRC’s first-ever sweeping entry at Youth Nationals. Primarily sculling the entire season, this crew made the switch to sweeping at the Youth Central Championships and claimed the regional title. The Varsity Straight Four went on to test their speed in Sarasota against an experienced field and finished fifth in the grand final. Their performance marked a significant step forward for the club, expanding its presence beyond sculling events.
U17 Double Show Their Power
The U17 Double finished first in the B final, with a commanding lead of 5-seconds over second place. By earning a 9th place finish nationally, they out-performed Founders' previous result of 14th place at the 2025 Youth National Championships.

We would like to recognize these outstanding athletes and their commitments for furthering their education and athletics. Each and every one of these young women have left a mark on Founders' history and impacted their fellow teammates in an encouraging and meaningful way:
